This is a nice little online application that does basic photo and graphic editing - online, for free.

One advantage to Picnik is that no account is required to do basic editing, but you can get one to keep your edits online.

 

The Search Tips page has places to find photos.

 

Other online photo editors

A Google search for "free online photo editing" will find you a number of free, online photo editors if you want to give others a try.

 

  • FotoFlexer.com - "the world's most advanced online image editor"

    a lot of different effects you can add to the photo you upload 

  • Phixr is another that doesn't need an account, but to keep the photos online you do
